The Environment and Level Design Unit tasked me with creating a two level environments that could be a part of either Metro 2033 or The Last of Us. Having not previously played either of these games, I heavily looked into both before deciding to create a game environment catered towards Metro.
We also where not given access to the asset packs we would be required to use to create these environments until the late stages of the unit, making it so our original idea drastically changed.
This project taught me many skills like fast idea generation and iterative skills turning one idea into another in a small time window.

My original idea was set on a motorway which leaded into a service station for level two. This idea was catered more so towards the last of us. However, after i received the asset packs which where all based around train stations and subway stations i changed my idea to have it in an underground subway station, which fit a lot better within Metro.
This meant i had to make new sketches and white box levels from my originals in a timely fashion.

After completing the white box, i then had to create the final version of the environment using sourced assets that where provided to us. In the second video, I explain my environmental decisions which guide the player through each individual level and how I made it so they followed along after each other in a linear manner.
